Dr. Kent is a native of Wetumpka, Alabama and an alumnus of Wetumpka High School. Dr. Kent received his Bachelor of Science from Auburn University at Montgomery and graduated with honors before attending medical school at South Alabama College of Medicine. He went on to intern at Jackson Hospital Family Practice and completed the residency program at UAB of Montgomery Family Practice with a specialty in Family Medicine. Dr. Kent is a member of AMA, MASA and AAFP. He has been married to his wife, Carol, since 1987. From 1990 to 2003 Dr. Kent worked in private practice. He was on staff as hospitalist for Elmore Community Hospital from 2003 until 2013, while simultaneously practicing with River Region Family Medicine.
