Works under the general supervision of the sleep center Director. Job duties include, but are not limited to, performing a variety of polysomnographic studies in the Sleep Disorders Center. Collects data and scores polysomnograms per AASM standard. This position is credentialed in sleep technology, minimum of 1 year, and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. i.e. nightshift Sleep Technicians and Trainees.

Supervisory Responsibility: Sleep technicians and trainees
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- A minimum of three years in patient care required.
- BRPT registered for a minimum of 1 year required
- BLS required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Reading/understanding an H&P
- Self-sufficient in problem-solving skills not only for self, but team members.
- Recognizing testing issues and assist in correcting.
- Extensive knowledge of polysomnography, equipment, electroencephalography and troubleshooting.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, visitors and team members.
- Understanding patient confidentiality. HIPAA
- Ability to maintain a professional composure in difficult/challenging situations.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: - Position requires 80% sitting and 20% mobility during the work day.
- Stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching is required occasionally.
- Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
- Continuous need for speaking with clear diction by phone and in person.
