Lake Martin Community Hospital is looking to hire a Full-Time Patient Care Tech for Night Shift.
Hours: 7p-7a
Pay depends on expereince.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs all appropriate procedures as outlined in the policy and procedure manual. This shall include baths, decubiti care, shaving of male patients, care of isolation patients, oral hygiene and other basic nursing care procedures and safety measures as assigned. May collect specimens when ordered.
- Measures physical parameters such as temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, pulse oximeter readings, heights, weights, accu-checks, accurate intake and output measures and records on the appropriate records. May apply telemetry monitors and perform EKG’s.
- Gives hygiene care, such as complete or partial baths, skin care, mouth care, back rubs and linen changes daily.
- Provides general comfort and safety measures such as turning and repositioning, passive and active range of motion, ambulating, side rail usage and call light within patient and/or family member reach at all times. Can set up oxygen, administer nebulizer treatments, set up and discontinue croup tents (mist tents) and set up suction when directed. Ensures that needs of patients are met.
- Promptly completes assignments and observes patients and notifies appropriate nurse of change in patient condition.
- Provides patients with fresh ice, water and nourishment as needed. Assist with feeding patients when needed.
- Monitors skin integrity, reporting any signs of skin breakdown or pressure areas immediately to the nurse.
- Represents a caring, friendly and professional attitude to the patient/family or public that he/she has contact with.
- Assumes responsibility for self-improvement by attendance at in-service classes, staff meetings and education related to personal growth and department needs.
- Follows established policies of the hospital and infection control program.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
