We are hiring for a Certified Nursing Assistant for Ivy Creek Hospice. of Lake Martin Hospice/palliative care experience preferred. Pay is based off experience.

- Provides personal care including:
- Baths
- Back Rubs
- Oral Hygiene
- Shampoos
- Changing bed linen
- Dressing and undressing patients
- Skin care and prevention of skin breakdown
- Toileting activities
- Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate.
- Prepares nutritious meals and/or snacks, as appropriate.
- Taking and recording oral, rectal and axillary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
- Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as an extensional therapy service as ordered (within the training limitations of the aide).
- Doing patients’ laundry, as appropriate.
- Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.).
- Reporting on patient’s condition and significant changes to the assigned supervisory nurse.
- Adhering to the Agency’s documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
- Attends all staff meetings, patient care conferences, and in-service presentations as required by the agency.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to communicate and understand and carry out detailed oral and written instructions.
· Must be organized and detail oriented.
· Ability to walk and stand frequently.
· Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene.
· Interpersonal skills required to instruct patients and their families, as well as, professional interaction with a variety of hospital/professional personnel.
· Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired.
· Knowledge of patient rights and responsibilities.
· Knowledge of Lake Martin Hospice services and availability.
· Knowledge of hospital/hospice policies and procedures, fire, safety, disaster plans and infection control policies.
Qualifications:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Must possess strong communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
3. Must possess and maintain a good physical stamina and mental health. Presents pre-employment physician’s health clearance, including negative TB skin test and/or CXR.
4. Has ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
5. Able to receive direction and independently follow tasks through with minimal supervision.
6. Maintains professional integrity throughout performance of all job duties.
7. Able to adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff and the agency
8. Able to act in a kind, decent, patient, and respectful manner at all times.
9. Has empathy for the needs of the ill, frail, and impaired.
10. Must be able to recognize, support and adhere to all Lake Martin Hospital/Hospice policies and procedures.
11. Able to consistently uphold attendance standards
12. Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with the Agency’s requirements and is in good working order.
