Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, particularly within an urgent care setting. This position requires proficiency in performing clinical tasks, managing patient records, and assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional medical services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
  • Take and record vital signs accurately, ensuring timely updates to patient charts.
  • Prepare patients for medical examinations by obtaining medical histories and documenting relevant information.
  • Administer basic life support as needed and maintain current certification.
  • Support the management of patients in various settings including inpatient care and emergency medicine.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal care delivery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of medical equipment and examination rooms.
  • Perform coding for medical records as required, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Provide compassionate care to patients across all age groups, including geriatrics.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of urgent care protocols and procedures.
  • Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding medical-surgical practices.
  • Familiarity with working in a Level I Trauma Center or similar high-acuity environments.
  • Basic life support certification is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems for documentation and coding purposes.
  • Ability to work effectively in both inpatient settings and emergency medicine scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with patients and healthcare team members effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate patient care documentation.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
