Dr. Robert W. Bartel, MD
Dr. Bartel graduated from the Karl Franzens University Medical School, Graz, Austria in June of 1981. Dr. Bartel completed his internship at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio in January of 1984. After completing his internship, he and his wife, Dr. Frances Bartel, moved to Dadeville in 1985, and he began his private practice. Dr. Bartel joined Lake Martin Family Medicine in September of 2002. Dr. Bartel is a good standing member with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and the Tallapoosa County Medical Association.
Dr. Robert Schuster, MD
Dr. Schuster graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Medical School in 1991 with Distinction. After completing his internship, he then worked in the family practice setting in Clarenville NF, Canada. He and his wife moved to Dadeville, Alabama in January of 1993, where he began working at Lakeshore Family Medicine, which is now Lake Martin Family Medicine.
Dr. John R. Durant, MD
Dr. Durant is originally from Canada and has been practicing medicine at Lake Martin Family Medicine for 20 years. He and his wife, Nadine, have two daughters. When Dr. Durant has free time, he enjoys mountain biking, fly-fishing and traveling.

Dr. Gabriel Hester, MD
Dr. Gabriel Hester was raised in Fayette, Alabama. He has fond memories of playing football & baseball for his rural hometown teams. After high school, he attended the University of Alabama-Huntsville, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He subsequently enrolled in the University of Alabama’s Rural Medical Scholars Program, matriculating at UAB in 2005, earning a Medical Doctor Degree in 2009. Post-graduation from medical school, Dr. Hester completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the former Baptist Health System in Birmingham (currently Brookwood Baptist). Post-graduation, Dr. Hester entered private practice and gained internal medicine, family practice, hospitalist & emergency medicine experience.
He enjoys scuba diving, fishing, boating, hiking, golf, tennis, art, & hanging out with his best friend...a 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier named Riply.
Barbara Wilder, CRNP
