Our Staff

  • Dr. Robert W. Bartel

    Dr. Bartel graduated from the Karl Franzens University Medical School, Graz, Austria in June of 1981. Dr. Bartel completed his internship at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio in January of 1984. After completing his internship, he and his wife, Dr. Frances Bartel, moved to Dadeville in 1985, and he began his private practice. Dr. Bartel joined Lake Martin Family Medicine in September of 2002. Dr. Bartel is a good standing member with the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama and the Tallapoosa County Medical Association.

  • Dr. John R. Durant

    Dr. Durant is originally from Canada and has been practicing medicine at Lake Martin Family Medicine for 20 years. He and his wife, Nadine, have two daughters. When Dr. Durant has free time, he enjoys mountain biking, fly-fishing and traveling.

  • Dr. Robert Schuster

    Dr. Schuster graduated from the University of Saskatchewan Medical School in 1991 with Distinction. After completing his internship, he then worked in the family practice settling in Clarenville NF, Canada. He and his wife moved to Dadeville, Alabama in January of 1993, where he began working at Lakeshore Family Medicine, which is now Lake Martin Family Medicine.
