WETUMPKA PHARMACY TECHNICIAN – 1 day a week and every other Saturday, 23.5 hours every 2 weeks.

PHARMACY TECH JOB PROFILE AND DESCRIPTION:

                *A pharmacy technician’s job entails receiving and filling prescription requests for patients.  The technician’s work is overseen by a licensed pharmacist.  The technician is also responsible for maintaining the daily operation of the pharmacy, completing tasks as delegated by the pharmacist.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

                *Receive refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate

                *Answer telephones, responding to questions or requests.

                *Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs

                *Assist customers with simple questions, referring them to the pharmacist for medical    information

                *Establish and maintain patient profiles, providing lists of medications taken when           

                needed

                *Take care of over – the -counter medications – stocking, straightening, ordering

                *Complete cash register transactions

                *Recieve and store incoming supplies / drugs, verify quantities against invoices, enter      inventory into computer, inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages

                *Fill prescriptions – entering orders,counting, pouring, measuring, labeling medications  for final inspection by pharmacist. Process medical insurance.

                *Maintain supplies used in pharmacy – prescripton containers, labels, paper, bags, etc.
